Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen has sent a message to his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung, expressing his sympathy over the loss of human life and property caused by typhoon Ketsana.

Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj has also extended condolences to State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

On Oct. 9, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam JD Mendonca Lima Neto conveyed 50,000 USD donated by his government to the storm victims in the central and Central Highlands provinces.

Oxfam in Vietnam announced that it will launch a 1.85 million USD emergency aid project to help 25,500 Vietnamese in Tu Mo Rong and Dak Glei districts in the Central Highland’s province of Kon Tum, which were hardest-hit by the storm, to resume their normal lives.

The European Community Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) has approved 578,485 EUR funding to the project./.
