Condolences pour in over former Party leader’s passing

The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and top leaders of the Republic of Korea (RoK), the Republic of Nicaragua and political parties sent messages of condolences to Vietnamese Party and State leaders, people and family of former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Le Kha Phieu over his passing.

Hanoi (VNA) – The CentralCommittee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and top leaders of the Republicof Korea (RoK), the Republic of Nicaragua and political parties sent messagesof condolences to Vietnamese Party and State leaders, people and family of formerGeneral Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee LeKha Phieu over his passing.

In its message of condolencessent to the CPV Central Committee, the WPK Central Committee said the lateleader was a veteran revolutionist and an eminent political activist whodedicated his whole life to the cause of national development and reunificationas well as the socialism building cause of Vietnam.

In a message sent to PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, President Moon Jae-in, onbehalf of the RoK’s government and people, extended condolences to theVietnamese people and family of comrade Le Kha Phieu.

He said the former Party GeneralSecretary made important contributions to the development of Vietnam as well asthe RoK – Vietnam relationship.

General Secretary of theCentral Committee of the Sandinista National Liberation Front Sandino,President Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Vice President of Nicaragua RosarioMurillo also sent a letter of condolences to Party General Secretary andPresident Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Central Committee of theMarxist Communist Party of India; Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela JesúsFaria; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth of the UnitedSocialist Party of Venezuela Rander Pena; Communications Secretary of theFarabundo Marti National Liberation Front of El Salvador Sigfrido Reyes; Vice Presidentand International Relations Secretary of the Communist Party of Brazil WalterSorrentino; Secretary General of the Dominican Republic’s United Left Movement MiguelMejia; Secretary General of the Communist Party of Uruguay Juan Castillo; FirstSecretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia Ignacio Mendoza, and the CentralCommittee of the Communist Party of Argentina also sent messages of condolencesto the CPV Central Committee.

President of the CommunistParty of Chile Guillermo Teillier also cabled a message of condolences to PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong./.

Vietnam, Senegal enhance cooperation across key sectors

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam’s exports to Senegal stood at 43.43 million USD, nearly equalling the total for 2024 (43.91 million USD). Vietnam mainly exports rice, pepper, agricultural products, and components, while its imports from Senegal include raw cashew nuts, fishmeal, seafood, and cotton.

Prime Minister hosts welcome ceremony for Thai counterpart
