Ways to speed up the implementation of projects on added services, international roaming and incentives for corporate customers topped the agenda of a Conexus Mobile Alliance conference beginning in Hanoi on Dec. 14.

During the course of the three-day conference, delegates will also discuss projects designed to join efforts with world leading mobile service operators and providers in order to bring high-quality services at reasonable prices to the alliance’s customers.

Established in April 2006, the Conexus Mobile Alliance is one of Asia’s biggest mobile alliances, with 11 members in 10 regional countries and territories, namely Japan, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Taiwan (China) and Hong Kong (China).

The alliance was formed with the aim to primarily develop and enhance international roaming and corporate mobile services for greater convenience and ease of use for its members' customers.

The alliance boasts a combined customer base of about 280 million mobile subscribers and is committed to promoting voice, video and data roaming via its members' GSM/GPRS, W-CDMA networks and/or HSDPA networks.

The Conexus Mobile Alliance also aims to create a virtual home environment for its members’ customers to experience seamless, convenient mobile-related services when they roam.

VinaPhone, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), officially joined the alliance in November 2009 after it became the first to launch 3G services in the country./.
