The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in Hanoi on July 7 hosted a conference to prepare content for the 6th APEC Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministerial Meeting scheduled for September in Vietnam.
The function was attended by some 100 delegates, including senior officials in charge of human resources development of 21 member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and representatives of the APEC Business Advisory Council, the International Labour Organisation, the International Monetary Fund and other institutions.
They reviewed the progress that APEC members have made since the 5th APEC HRD Ministerial Meeting in China in 2010 and discussed technical reports on the approaching event’s theme.
Attendees also built the first drafts of a joint statement of ministers and an action plan for the next four years.
Reports and draft documents will be sent to APEC members for feedbacks before finalising and being submitted to the APEC senior officials’ meeting for approval.
