The function was attended by some100 delegates, including senior officials in charge of human resourcesdevelopment of 21 member economies of the Asia-Pacific EconomicCooperation (APEC) forum and representatives of the APEC BusinessAdvisory Council, the International Labour Organisation, theInternational Monetary Fund and other institutions.
They reviewed the progress that APEC members have made since the 5thAPEC HRD Ministerial Meeting in China in 2010 and discussedtechnical reports on the approaching event’s theme.
Attendees also built the first drafts of a joint statement of ministers and an action plan for the next four years.
Reports and draft documents will be sent to APEC members for feedbacksbefore finalising and being submitted to the APEC senior officials’meeting for approval.
The September meeting isthemed “Strengthening people-to-people connectivity and qualityemployment through human resources development”.-VNA
