The Government Committee for Religious Affairs organised a conference in the central province of Phu Yen on June 14 to inform local religious dignitaries and followers of the law.

The two-day event updated around 200 religious dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers on the religious situation in Vietnam, the Party’s and the state’s policies on belief and religion, and regulations on land ownership.

Pham Huy Tho, deputy director of the committee, told the conference that along with efforts to perfect policies and laws, the Government has paid special attention to increasing religious followers’ awareness of legal regulations to ensure that their religious activities are conducted in accordance with the law.

In Vietnam , there are more than 20 million religious followers who are operating at 32 religious orgasations./.
