A conference to review 35 years of cooperation between Vietnam and the World Bank (WB) will be held in the central coastal city of Nha Trang in the third quarter of next year, said the Government Office.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) is tasked to coordinate with the Government Office, ministries of foreign affairs, planning and investment, finance, public security, home affairs, the WB and relevant agencies to draw out scheme for the event.

According to the Government Office, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the SBV and relevant agencies to establish a working group to assess the cooperation between the Vietnam and the WB over the past 35 years and put forwards directions for cooperation in the coming time.

The PM also instructed the SBV to coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to organise a symposium on potentials and solutions for effective implementation of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects funded by the WB.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Investment and Planning was assigned to join hands with relevant agencies to assess the management and use of the WB funding./.
