Votes of confidence over positions elected by People’s Councils were held in many provinces and cities across the country on July 11, under the National Assembly’s Resolution 35/2912/QH13.

In Ho Chi Minh City , the voting was carried out for 16 positions including the chairperson and vice chairperson of the People’s Council and the chairperson and four vice chairperson of the People’s Committee.

Most of the officials received high numbers of high-confidence votes.

Speaking after the vote, Chairwoman of the People’s Council Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam said it was organised in an open, objective and transparent manner.

Results of the vote will help concerned position holders draw lessons for themselves in order to better perform their duties, she added.

The voting also took place in other provinces including Ninh Thuan, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Bac Giang and Lao Cai.-VNA
