More than 70 foreign and Vietnamese guitarists will play at the Guitar Gala organised by the HCM City Music Conservatory to celebrate its 55th anniversary.
They will take the stage on December 16 and 17, playing Dancas Populares Brasileiras, a folk work by Brazilian composer Celso Machado.
HCM City-based Tran Hoai Phuong will perform Dan Chim Viet (Vietnamese Birds), a popular song by Van Cao, the composer of the national anthem.
Other Vietnamese guitarists like Tran Hoai Phuong, Chau Dang Khoa, Duong Kim Dung, and Nguyen Tri Doan will join artists from Australia , Japan , and Taiwan at the shows.
"Through our gala, we hope to take our music to the public, especially young audiences," Thanh Huy, a guitarist and head of the conservatory's Guitar and Accordion Department, and a member of the organising board, said.
The shows will take place at the conservatory's music hall, 112 Nguyen Du street , district 1./.
