Work started on Nov. 10 to build marker No. 666 at the A Deut-Ta Vang border gate between the central province of Thua Thien Hue of Vietnam and Sekong province of Laos.

The marker, which will be distinguished from others by being built on a monumental scale, is part of an ongoing project to upgrade and increase the system of border markers between Vietnam and Laos. The project is significant to the political security and socio-economic development of the two countries, especially for localities along the common border.

Construction of the marker No. 666 is expected to be completed in January of 2010.

On the occasion, Thua Thien Hue-province handed over two projects that it helped build for Sekong province. The two projects worth 3.1 billion VND are the Ta Vang Check Station and a road from the station to border marker S10./.
