Construction of a new parliament house started in Hanoi ’s Ba Dinh district on August 6.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony, NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Kien emphasised the significance of the project, saying that it will meet the all the requirements of NA agencies.

He asked the builders to complete the project on schedule while ensuring its quality and meeting technical requirements.

According to the head of the NA Office’s Administration Department Dang Kim Son said that a nine-storey building will be built on the 14,929sq.m site to accommodate a conference hall and offices for a number of NA agencies and committees.

It will cost almost 1 trillion VND, funded by the State budget and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2011./.
