Provinces and cities nationwide should take drastic measures to further the fight against corruption, focusing on seven major fields in 2010.
Vu Tien Chien, Chief of the Office of the Central Steering Committee for Corruption Prevention, made the statement at a two-day symposium on implementing corruption fight and prevention work in 2010 and orientations for 2020, which concluded in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 12.
The seven target areas include land use, taxation, mineral resource management, personnel recruitment and appointment, capital construction, addressing complaints and petitions relating to corruption, and handling important cases relating to the problem as well as the equitisation of State-owned enterprises.
In the first quarter of 2010, the Steering Committee will coordinate with relevant agencies to strictly settle major corruption cases of public concerns, helping create positive changes in each area./.
