A heavy engineering equipment operator course within the framework of the triangular partnership project for rapid deployment of enabling capabilities opened in the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department on November 5.

The first training course is officially launched from now until December 14 with 16 participants from Bhutan, Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Timor Leste, Singapore and Vietnam. The course focuses mainly in capacity building for military engineers who work on heavy machineries like bulldozers, excavator and tractors, among others while performing tasks assigned by Military Engineering Unit under the UN Peacekeeping Force.

Previously on June 25, the Department of Field Support under UN Peacekeeping Force declared a decision choosing Vietnam as a training site for peacekeeping forces under its trilateral partnership programme in Southeast Asia besides Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia./.-VNA
