A course on investigation techniques used to combat economic crime and money laundering using advanced technologies was held in Hanoi from Sept. 28 to Oct. 2.

Two specialists from the French police force were invited to advise 20 Vietnamese police officials from the General Department of Public Security and a number of local economic crime police agencies on how best to investigate economic crime.

The course, co-organised by the department of international technical cooperation for police forces under the French embassy in Vietnam and the economic crime investigation police department under the Ministry of Public Security, focused on different techniques using information technology.

It aims to help improve officers’ skills when investigating fraudulent behaviour such as copying cards and banking data and other illegal acts over the Internet.-Enditem
