Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam detected 17 new cases of COVID-19 on September 29, all of whom are people being quarantined in concentrated facilities, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The total number of cases rose to 1,094 as of 6pm on September 29.

The 17 new patients all arrived from Russia and are being quarantined in the southern province of Bac Lieu.

During the day, eight more COVID-19 patients were given the all clear, raising the total recoveries to 1,007.

Among patients under treatment, there is no serious case.

The death toll remained at 35.

There are 15,897 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areas under quarantine across the country.

The Health Ministry continues to urge people to persist with disease prevention measures such as wearing masks in public places, regularly washing hands with soap or sanitizer and refraining from gatherings./.
