Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam recorded 7,940 COVID-19 infections, including three imported cases, in the past 24 hours to 5pm on September 30, according to the Ministry of Health.
 
Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s current largest pandemic hotspot, continued to report the highest number of infections with 4,372 cases. At the same time, 3,417 cases detected by rapid testing on September 28 were confirmed.

The southern Binh Duong province logged 2,103 cases, Dong Nai 626, An Giang 172, and Long An 125. The capital city of Hanoi reported one cases.
 
The country has to date logged 790,755 COVID-19 cases.

A total of 25,322 patients were given the all-clear on September 30, raising the number of recoveries to 608,831.

Meanwhile, 159 deaths related to COVID-19 were announced on the day, and some provinces reported 44 deaths from previous days, raising the death toll to 19,301.

As of the end of September 29, over 42.16 million people have been vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines, with nearly 9.5 million already receiving full two shots./.
