Hanoi (VNA) - The Health Ministry of Laos on July 6 announced that the country recorded 55 new COVID-19 cases, of them 54 were workers returning from Thailand who were immediately quarantined after arrival.

There was only one domestic infection detected in Vientiane.

The Ministry continues to call on people in Laos to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as follow current preventive measures, in an effort to repel the pandemic.

To date, Laos has received 2 million doses of vaccine. The country’s COVID-19 tally reached 2,355, with three fatalities.

Meanwhile, Cambodia logged additional 935 COVID-19 cases on July 6, including 155 imported ones.

The national count surpassed 56,000, with a death toll of 779.

Cambodia has received 12 million doses of COVID-19 and is projected to have 20 million by August, which is enough to inoculate 10 million people in line with its target to reach herd immunity in November./.
