The consumer price index (CPI) registered only a marginal rise in November in the country’s two biggest cities of Hanoi and HCM City.
Hanoi’s CPI rose 0.22 percent against last month, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.67 percent.
Except post and telecom services that remained unchanged and restaurant services that dropped by 0.05 percent, the remaining nine commodity groups saw price increases of less than 1 percent.
The housing, fuel and construction material group experienced the highest increase of 0.99 percent, followed by the garment, hats and footwear group with 0.95 percent.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the index rose only 0.1 percent against last month, marking a 3.9 percent increase since the beginning of this year.
Eight out of 11 commodity groups saw slight increases ranging from 0.01 percent to 0.7 percent. Especially, the group of restaurant services decreased by 0.18 percent.-VNA
