CPV a top priority partner of Czech Republic-based communist party

Prague (VNA) – Chairwoman of the CommunistParty of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM) Katerina Konecna affirmed the CommunistParty of Vietnam (CPV) is always one of the KSCM’s top priority partners whilemeeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam onApril 17.

Konecnasaid the political and diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic andVietnam have been growing well as seen in mutual visits at all levels over the recentpast.

She underlinedthat the time-tested friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the twocountries as well as between the KSCM and CPV have been nurtured by generationsof the countries’ leaders and developing unceasingly since bilateral diplomaticties were established in 1950.

The KSCM’s consistent policy is to foster its traditionalconnections with communist and left-wing parties along with progressive forcesaround the world, including the CPV, she stated.

The Chairwoman applauded thedevelopment of the two Parties’ cooperation with many delegation exchanges held,most recently the working visit by Secretary of the CPV Central Committee andChairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Information andEducation Nguyen Trong Nghia.

The maintenance of frequentmutual visits will help strengthen the two Parties’ relations, she noted, asking the Parties’ communications bodies to enhance collaborationand experience sharing.

She also expressed the readiness to welcome and support Vietnamese delegations onvisits to Czech localities.

Appreciating KSCM leadersand Konecna’s attention and sincere sentimenttowards Vietnam, Ambassador Nam repeated Nghia’s invitation to the KSCMleaders to visit the Southeast Asian nation.

As the two countries areabout to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2025, hecalled for the KSCM’s support for and coordination in the organisation ofcelebratory activities.

Nam also proposed Konecna, as a member of the European Parliament, helppromote the European Commission’s early removal of the “yellow card” warningover illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing for Vietnam to assistthe country’s fisheries sector to develop sustainably./.

NA deputies continue to discuss amendments to Constitution on May 14

The draft resolution to amend and supplement certain articles of the 2013 Constitution comprises two main articles. Article 1 outlines eight proposed amendments and additions to existing constitutional provisions, focusing on the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and other socio-political organisations, administrative units, and the organisation of local government.
