The Cuban President, Raul Castro has announced that the sixth congress of the Cuban Communist Party will be convened in April next year.

The announcement was made at a meeting on Nov. 8 in celebration of the 10 th anniversary of Cuban-Venezuelan comprehensive cooperation agreement. The Cuban President added that the congress is scheduled to be held on the same occasion of the 50 th anniversary of Giron victory, focusing on the country’s economic development issues.

The Congress, which last took place in 1997, is traditionally used to announce Cuba ’s major policy changes./.
