Cuba always respects Vietnam ’s development experiences and is determined to further promote the friendly cooperation between the two peoples, said Vice President of the Cuban Council of State Esteban Lazo.

Lazo, who is also Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba, made the statement while receiving Ha Thi Khiet, CPV CC Secretariat and Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPV CC)’s Commission on Mass Mobilisation, in Cuba on April 9.

Lazo expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for their solidarity and consistent support to the Cuban people.

He congratulated the Vietnamese people on their great achievements in national construction and development.

For her part, Khiet confirmed the solidarity and support of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to the Cuban people’s just revolutionary cause.

She highlighted the great achievements the Cuban people gained while suffering from the embargo, facing negative impacts of the global financial and economic crisis and heavy consequences left by natural disasters.

She expressed her hope to further boost the comprehensive cooperation with Cuba for mutual interest.

The two sides informed each other of their respective countries’ recent socio-economic development, discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern and measures to further tighten the all-around cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba./.
