Cuba expects to dispatch more doctors to work in Vietnam in general and at the Vietnam-Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital in the central province of Quang Binh in particular, helping the country in the healthcare sector.

Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rodrigo Manmerca Diaz said so while visiting the hospital on September 20 on the occasion of the 40 th anniversary of former Cuban President Fidel Castro’s visit to liberated areas in South Vietnam. The hospital was built in May 1974 following the visit.

Diaz, who is also co-chairman of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-governmental Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, expressed his hope that the solidarity and cooperation between the two Parties, Governments and peoples will always be consolidated and developed.

He highlighted the regular exchange and cooperation between the two countries in many areas, especially the healthcare sector.

The minister laid special emphasis on Cuba’s unconditional solidarity with Vietnam during its revolutionary cause and national liberation over the past five decades.-VNA
