talks with the US to settle their difficulties in an atmosphere of

He made the statement at the closing ceremony of the 4 th meeting of the Cuban 7 th national assembly.
President Raul Castro said a year has past since US President Barack Obama took office, yet the US still maintains a hostile policy towards Cuba and ignores requests from the international community to change it.
“The US won't quit trying to destroy the revolution and bring a change to our economic and social regime,” the Cuban President was quoted as saying by foreign news agencies.
The Cuban President accused the US administration of sending an American to Cuba to illegally distribute satellite equipment to the opposition.
This is the first official statement from the Cuban government in reference to the recent arrest of a US national who was caught trying to distribute satellite equipment that is banned in the country, including cell phones and computers, to opposition groups on Dec. 5./.
