A string of cultural activities will be held in Hanoi from June 17-21 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Luxembourg.

To begin those series of activities, the Luxembourg Embassy and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will co-organise a televised programme on tourism and hospitality development in Vietnam on VTV2 and VTV4 on June 17.

The television show will be followed by an electronic music performance by musician Sun Glitters from Luxembourg and Vietnamese percussionist Tran Xuan Hoa. The concert will be held at the Youth Theatre at 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street on June 18.

The theatre will also host a modern dance performance by Luxembourg dancer Sylvia Camarda on June 20. Vietnamese dancer Mai Lan and a dance troupe from the Youth Theatre will perform the opening act.

The contemporary dance titled Warrior of Beauty II engages in a dialogue with the audience that explores one central question: how to be a warrior of beauty? How may individuals find themselves in their own true personality? She has chosen an artist's dressing room as the setting of her piece in order to illustrate and flesh out these moments of reflection, hesitation and analysis.

The dance movements draw inspiration from Broadway shows and from the sensibility of classic ballet.

Other highlight of the cultural programme will be a concert performed by Luxembourg pianist Francesco Tristano with the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Vietnamese conductor Le Phi Phi. The show will open at the city's Opera House on June 21. This concert will be Tristano's third performance in the capital after solo recitals in 2011 and 2012.

This concert will wrap up the celebrations and mark Luxembourg National Day on June 23.
