The northern province of Tuyen Quang is taking steps to have the
traditional Then singing of the Tay ethnic group be included on the
list of the world intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
Banh Tet (round glutinous rice cake) is a traditional cake enjoyed by
southern Vietnamese people on the occasion of the lunar New Year. It is
considered a variant of Banh Chung (square glutinous rice cake), which
is more popular in the northern region.
With cool weather year-round and idyllic misty valleys, lush pine
trees and colourful flowers, Da Lat city is making a name for itself
with domestic and international visitors. The “city of a thousand
flowers” is also home to numerous sites recognised by the Vietnam Record
Organisation.
