The central city of Da Nang has called for investment from Japan businesses, and especially those in the Kansai region.

This is the main focus of the workshop, “Promoting Japan’s investment to Da Nang” co-organised by the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) on Nov. 23.

Accordingly, Da Nang welcomes enterprises from Kansai to conduct surveys and invest in various fields, including high technology, supporting industry, electronics, consulting services, renewable energy and industrial zones.

In terms of human resources, the two sides will provide support for high quality education and study programmes between tertiary institutions.

For trade and tourism, it is expected to open a direct air route linking Da Nang and Osaka. Da Nang is keen to organise more cultural exchanges, roadshows, farm trips, tourism fairs and exchange of tourism experts and consultants between the two localities.

Together with the effective efforts of JETRO, Da Nang commits to creating favourable conditions for businesses from Japan and the Kansai region to seek investment opportunities and implement projects.

Japan is considered an important partner of Da Nang in economic cooperation, investment and tourism with registered FDI of 231 million USD, accounting for 8 percent of total FDI to Da Nang.

Recently, Da Nang has established relationships with several Japanese cities such as Mitsuke, Kawasaki, Sakai, Nagasaki, and Yokohama and hopes to cooperate with Kobe, Yaidu and Ohtawara soon./.
