Prague (VNA) – The central city of Da Nang and Czech Republic’s Brno city have held an online meeting to discuss their friendship and cooperation.

At the function that took place on September 15, the sides discussed their strengths for joint work in tourism, advanced technology, and IT, with Da Nang asking Brno to soon arrange specific discussions for the establishment of the cities’ friendship and cooperation relations in the coming time.

A representative of the Da Nang Tourism Department suggested the sides exchange experience to promote the value of cultural and natural heritage, as well as to organise exhibitions and workshops at regional and international levels, among others. The collaboration is expected to help boost tourism development of both sides in the future.

Ivo Bednar, Head of Brno’s Foreign Relations Department, said his city, the second largest in the Czech Republic, has so far set up bilateral relations with 16 big cities worldwide.

He said he believes bilateral engagements between the two cities will facilitate their mutual exchange and learning to grow further, adding that he wished their friendship and cooperation relations will soon be established in a practical and effective manner in contribution to both sides’ prosperity.

After the discussion, a memorandum of understanding was signed, aiming to boost bilateral friendship, comprehensive partnership and mutual understanding; and open cooperation opportunities in investment, tourism, high-tech industry, and innovative urban development, among other fields./.
