The central city of Da Nang will implement three resettlement projects in southern districts during 2014, with a total area of nearly 16 hectares set aside.

The three projects in Hoa Vang and Ngu Hanh Son districts will be completed in 15 months.

This year, the city also strives to upgrade 900 houses belonging to families receiving social welfare, in addition to eliminating 300 other dilapidated residencies belonging to poor households.

The municipal departments of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Construction were assigned to finish the upgrade by July 27 – Vietnam ’s War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

Over the past 10 years, Da Nang has paid attention to reducing poverty and eliminating poor-quality houses.

In 2013, more than 7,700 households across the city succeeded in escaping from poverty.-VNA
