Hanoi (VNA) – Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Anh has been found to “hold the main responsibility” for multiple violations by the Party Committee’s Standing Board during the 2015-2020 tenure.

The information was released by the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission in a report following a four-day meeting from September 13-16.

The report said Anh violated “the principle of democratic centralism” and Party and State regulations on personnel work by making arbitrary appointments to city government positions.

His actions caused division and affected the solidarity and unity in the Standing Board of the Party Committee.

Anh’s use of inappropriate certifications and dishonesty in declaration also violated the code of ethics for Party members, according to the report.

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission also condemned him for “not being conscious of setting an example” when receiving two cars and two houses as “gifts” from private enterprises, creating public outrage.

Meanwhile, Vice Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho also shouldered blame for violations committed by the Party Committee’s Standing Board.

Tho is held accountable for violations in land and urban management.

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission concluded that violations by the Da Nang Party Committee’s Standing Board, Nguyen Xuan Anh and Huynh Duc Tho are so serious that disciplinary actions will be applied.

The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission also announced violations committed by the Party delegations to the People’s Committee of Gia Lai province in the 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 tenures as well as Pham The Dung, former Vice Secretary of the Gia Lai Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party delegation and former Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

The commission said the Standing Board of the Dak Nong province Party Committee ran afoul of financial management regulations.

It added that it has investigated and taken disciplinary measures against the Standing Board of the Party Committee and several members of the Council of the State-owned Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) for violations that led to serious losses.-VNA
