The central city of Da Nang has attracted over 152 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first nine months of the year.

Of the total, more than 107 million USD came from 24 newly licensed projects, while the rest was additional capital of 12 existing projects.

Processing and manufacturing industries attracted the largest amount of investment capital of 86.1 million USD, accounting for 56.5 percent of the total nine-month FDI figure. Real estate followed with a total investment of 62.5 million USD.

Of the new projects, the most noteworthy are a 40 million USD plant of the Japanese Tokyo Keiki Precision Technology Co., Ltd, a 32 million USD project to build the Da Nang information technology zone invested by Roccky Lai & Associates of Panama and a 14 million USD beverage can plant invested by Singaporean Crown Packaging Investment Co., Ltd.

So far, 10 countries and territories have invested in Da Nang city.

Japan , with 12 projects worth more than 61.7 million USD is ranking first among 10 countries and territories investing in Da Nang since early this year. It was followed by the Republic of Korea with 6 projects worth over 17.7 million USD and Singapore, with 14.2 million USD.-VNA
