Da Nang (VNA) - The Ba Na Hills Golf Club will host the first ever FootGolf tournament, which combines the concepts of both golf and football, at the Da Nang city golf course on November 13.

The event’s organisers said the tournament will showcase 10 or 13 teams of four, playing football with golf rules, from holes number 1-9 at the 18-hole, tour-calibre golf course.

Four players of each team will kick their balls from tee-off and results will be recorded for every hole.

After nine holes, the best scoring team will be given the FootGolf championship award by the organising committee.

The first-ever tournament will be played by Vietnamese and international teams on November 13 from 2-6pm.

The 165ha golf course, situated at the foot of the Ba Na Mountains 30km west of the city centre, was awarded ‘Best New Golf Course in Asia Pacific’ and ‘Best Golf Course in Vietnam – the 1st Runner Up’ at the 2016 Asian Golf Awards last week.

It is the first golf course in Vietnam which allows golfers night access, due to its state-of-the-art lighting system.-VNA
