The first direct flight linking China’s Taipei and the central city of Da Nang arrived in the Vietnamese Da Nang airport on Dec. 26.

Taiwan-based TransAsia Airways became the second foreign carrier conducting direct flights to Da Nang after Singapore’s Silk Air. It will operate two flights on Wednesday and Saturday every week.

Da Nang authorities and leaders of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam and the TransAsia Airways were present at the inauguration ceremony of the air route which is expected to attract more investors and tourists to the central locality.

Also in December, Da Nang will receive more direct flights from Osaka, Japan, and China’s Hong Kong./.
