The FrieslandCampina Vietnam company has presented 60 cows worth 600 million VND (28,600 USD) to the “Cow bank” project.

This is the second time the dairy company has joined the project, which was founded by the Vietnam Red Cross Society with the aim of giving assistance to farmers.

FrieslandCampina Vietnam has also spent more than 15 million USD helping farmers expand cow breeding. More than 3,000 households and dairy farms have participated in this programme, producing over 75,000 tonnes of milk per year.

Since 2010, the "Cow bank" project has provided 7,028 cows for poor households in 111 districts in 39 provinces nationwide.

In 2013 and 2014, the project will encourage the public to donate 10,000 cows worth about 100 billion VND for the poor.-VNA
