A flash rainstorm and 50mm of rain in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has saved hundreds of hectares of trees after a spell of drought.

As many as 30,000 hectares of winter-spring rice crops and over 200,000 hectares of coffee trees were rejuvenated after the ‘golden’ rain.

It also helps reduce the risk of forest fires.

Dak Lak now has over 35,000 hectares of trees of various kinds, including 8,000 hectares of winter-spring rice crop and 25,000 hectares of coffee trees, already dead from water shortage.-VNA
