The Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has spent more than 192 billion VND to help pupils from ethnic groups and poor families prepare for the 2013-2014 academic year.

With the money, the provincial authorities have bought textbooks and other school goods, which have been delivered to local school for distributing to more than 300,000 pupils before the academic year begins.

Dak Lak also called on organisations and individuals in the locality to donate in both cash and kind for local disadvantaged pupils, thus helping them have opportunities to attend school.-VNA
