The central port city of Danang has so far this year granted licences for 13 foreign direct investments (FDI) with a combined capital of 151.76 million USD.

The city has also licenced four other foreign invested projects to increase their existing investments by 97.5 million USD.

However, three FDI projects have had their licenses evoked and another expired, capitalised at 14.06 million USD in total.

As a result, Danang is now home to 157 valid FDI projects with a combined investment of 2.61 billion USD and an estimated 1.04 billion USD disbursed.

The FDI projects based in the city have provided jobs for 34,200 workers. Most noteworthy are two Japanese companies - the Daiwa Ld. and the Mabuchi Motor, which have very recently recruited almost 1,300 workers amid the global economic downturns./.
