Queen Margrethe II and Prince Consort Henrik of Denmark visited the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on Nov. 4-5.

Receiving the Danish royal guests, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Thien spoke highly of the Denmark’s assistance to and cooperation with the province in culture, environment, human resources and the economy, taking Hue Brewery Limited Company an example of the country’s successful investment in the province.

He also thanked the Danish government for providing ODA and FDI for the province’s socio-economic development, saying he hoped for further cooperation with Denmark.

Thua Thien-Hue will offer incentives to Danish concerns who wish to invest in it, he said.

Queen Margrethe said she expected that Vietnam-Denmark relations would develop even further.

On Nov. 5, the Queen and her entourage visited Minh Mang mausoleum in the former imperial city of Hue and attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the Hue brewery factory, phase two, at Phu Bai industrial park.

Once its second phase completed, the factory, a joint-venture with Denmark’s Carlsberg beer, put into operation in 1993, will churn out 230 million litres of beer a year./.
