VTV4, a channel for overseas Vietnamese, is broadcasting round-the-clock programming on August 10 related to Agent Orange and its victims, to commemorate “Orange Day”.

The 24-hour block of programming, including feature films, documentaries films, talk shows and musical performances, is just one of the activities to mark Vietnamese AO Victims’ Day (Orange Day) which is being held in Vietnam for the first time to support the victims and help them achieve justice.

During the marathon programme, eight documentary films, three feature films and four talk shows with subtitles in English and Vietnamese will be aired for an international audience. Two concert programmes by Dang Thai Son and Peter Yarrow will also be included.

This is also an excellent opportunity for overseas Vietnamese to voice their support for local AO victims.

The “Orange Day” programme’s goal is to raise public awareness of AO/dioxin issues in Vietnam as well as call for support from domestic and international individuals and organisations to build 110 houses, grant 1,100 scholarships and generate 1,100 jobs for AO victims throughout the country.

In response to Orange Day, more than 65 radio and television stations nationwide together with 15 foreign television channels have also broadcast programmes on AO/dioxin to highlight the issue around the world and keep apprised of the struggle for justice for Vietnamese and international AO victims./.
