Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Xuan Lich, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, made the statement while he was received by Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, in Havana on October 24.

Lich, Director of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People’s Army, informed his host of the outcomes of cooperation in Party and political tasks between the two armies.

The activities have proven effective, contributing to the protection and building of socialism in each country, he affirmed.

Lich also expressed his hope that the Cuban leaders will continue to facilitate the two countries’ defence ties.

For his part, Machado Ventura, who is also First President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers in Cuba, said his country will do its utmost to foster ties with Vietnam and create conditions for the two countries’ armed forces to cooperate effectively.

He said he believes that Lich’s visit will contribute to further tightening the special fraternal relations between the two countries.
