Defence Minister receives RoK diplomat

Hanoi (VNA) - Defence Minister Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich hosted a reception for newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Vietnam Park Noh-wan in Hanoi on June 1.

During the meeting, the Vietnamese official expressed his belief that the diplomat will fulfill his tasks and make positive contributions to developing the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, including defence cooperation. 
 
He highlighted the flourishing development of bilateral defence relations in recent years, especially in the exchange of high-level delegations, defence policy dialogue, personnel training and overcoming consequences of post-war unexploded ordnances.

Lich called on the two sides to continue to effectively implement signed defence cooperation agreements while enhancing the exchange of delegations, exchanges between young officers, and the sharing of experience in the coming time.

He also thanked the RoK Government for its active support for Vietnam in preventing the COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, the guest promised to do his utmost to accomplish his missions, contributing to promoting the practical and effective development of bilateral relations in general and defence cooperation in particular./.
