Defence ministers of Malaysia, China discuss cooperation

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia’s Minister of Defence Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe agreed to further enhance existing defence cooperation between the two countries during their talk on the phone on May 15.

In a statement later, the Malaysian Ministry of Defence said the two ministers also discussed regional and international security challenges of mutual interest.

The two sides shared their experiences on preventive and control measures implemented in their respective countries in dealing with the COVID-19 situation.

The statement said both ministers agreed that it is imperative for every country to continue to work together in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In the statement, Minister Ismail Sabri also thanked the Chinese Ministry of Defence for donating medical supplies./.
