HCM City (VNA) – Denimsandjeans Vietnam 2025 – a leading denim industry expo in Asia – opened in Ho Chi Minh City on June 25, bringing together more than 40 manufacturers from over 10 countries and territories across the world.

The two-day event, organised by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the Indian Business Association in Vietnam and Balaji Enterprises of India, showcases the latest fashion trends and innovations in the global denim industry.

The highlight of the expo will be a “DENIM BAZAAR” area where Vietnamese fashion brands will display their innovative denim products, including recycled ones.

Sandeep Agarwal, Director of Balaji Enterprises, said that Vietnam is one of the world's largest garment manufacturing hubs, with a highly skilled workforce, modern infrastructure and a strong commitment to sustainable development. Specifically, Vietnam exports more than 80 million denim products each year, with an export value exceeding 1 billion USD and growing continuously. Its main export markets are the US, the EU, Japan, among others.

In this context, Denimsandjeans Vietnam is constantly striving to promote local talent and expand opportunities for the domestic business community, especially connecting a series of large enterprises in the global denim industry with domestic Vietnamese brands, Sandeep said.

VITAS Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai said that the expo not only showcases advanced products and technologies but also serves as a platform for promoting sustainable development in denim, a fast-growing and dynamic subsector of Vietnam’s textile and garment value chain.

She noted that building a transparent, digitalised, and green denim supply chain is no longer a trend but a mandatory requirement in VITAS's development strategy toward 2030 and vision to 2035.

Stronger linkages between manufacturers, suppliers, designers, and distributors are key to enhancing the industry’s competitiveness and resilience in the face of strict international standards.

Vietnam ranks among Asia’s top producers and exporters of denim, with hundreds of factories producing denim fabric and garments, mainly located in southern localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh. Vietnamese denim products are now exported to over 70 countries. Notably, Vietnam is one of the top three exporters of jeans to the US, holding 14–16% of market share./.
