Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong reviewed bilateral defence ties during their meeting in Hanoi on May 4.

Host and guest discussed preparations for the upcoming Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange, affirming that the event is meant to concretise the Joint Vision Statement on Defence Relations until 2025 signed between the two defence ministries on the occasion of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to China in January 2017.

Ambassador Hong informed the host that Politburo member and Vice Chairman of the Communist Party of China’s Central Military Commission Fan Changlong will pay an official visit to Vietnam and join the fourth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange.

He emphasised that the visit is a manifestation of China’s appreciation of defence ties with Vietnam.-VNA
