The host said following theestablishment of the comprehensive partnership in 2013, the twocountries’ defence cooperation has seen fresh developments in personneltraining, the sharing of experience in humanitarian aid, disasterresponse, and navigation security and safety.

Medeiros, who is Special Assistant to US President Barrack Obama,agreed that both sides need to increase the exchange of information andhigh-ranking military delegations and effectively carry out the signedmemorandum of understanding on bilateral defence.

At the meeting, the officials also agreed to accelerate the settlement of the aftermath of war in Vietnam.-VNA
