Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Ministryof Defence treasures and spares no efforts to develop sound traditional relationswith the Cambodian army and people, Deputy Minister of Defence Le Chiem hassaid.

Deputy Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Le Chiem madethe statement on December 6 in Hanoi while hosting General Mam Sophat, Directorof the Department of Legal Affairs under the Cambodian Ministry of Defence.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister affirmedthat Vietnam and Cambodia have enjoyed a traditional friendship during the paststruggles for national liberation, as well as the construction and safeguardingat present.

In particular, cooperation in legal systemdevelopment and law enforcement serves to provide conditions to complete thelegal system in each country’s army, Chiem stressed.

In response, Gen. Mam Sophat voiced hishope that the Vietnamese defence ministry will continue exchanges of delegationsat all levels, along with personnel training in law enforcement and building a legalsystem in the army. –VNA
