Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen Le Huu Duc and US Transportation Commander Gen. William Fraser want highly efficient cooperation in military transportation between the two countries in the coming time.

During their meeting in Hanoi on September 20, Deputy Defence Minister Duc expressed hope that both sides will continue with effective defence cooperation as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding signed previously.

He spoke about developments in defence ties, especially since the adoption of a joint statement on Vietnam-US comprehensive cooperation, and hailed the US Transportation Command delegation’s visit as a good condition to make exchanges and experience sharing.

For his part, the US commander expressed wishes for his command to continue to take part in humanitarian aid, disaster relief and other fields interested by both sides.

He elaborated that the two armies’ transport experts will have meetings and exchanges to bolster effective cooperation, contributing greatly to building mutual trust in all fields.-VNA
