Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh received the Special Ambassador between Vietnam and Japan, Sugi Ryotaro, in Hanoi on September 4.
Minh praised Ryotaro’s practical contributions to the development of the Vietnam-Japan friendship and cooperation over the past 20 years, and acknowledged his active role as Special Ambassador between Vietnam and Japan , particularly highlighting his support for Vietnam in organising a series of events in celebration of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013.
He expressed his hope that Ryotaro will continue to make practical contributions to the enhancement of the Vietnamese-Japanese strategic partnership.
For his part, the Japanese guest promised to spare no efforts to further enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, particularly with regard to culture and people-to-people exchanges.
He informed his host on plans to create a Japan-Vietnam music TV show and organise a number of other cultural activities aiming to improve the cultural understanding and exchange between the two peoples.-VNA
