Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a meeting of the steering board for drafting a project on streamlining and restructuring the contingent of public servants in Hanoi on March 14.

Phuc said the staff streamlining work must be carried out at Party and State agencies at all levels and socio-political organisations, including those at communal-level, targeting public servants. The contingent of civil workers is not included in this project.

At the session, the participants said the implementation of the scheme must ensure the principles of tranparency, democracy and fairness in line with the law.

The project aims to build a contingent of competent public employees, and set out the detail number of staff and structure of officials and public employers in all administrative agencies of the State and Party as well as socio-political organizations.

It will also outline solutions on the management and treatment policies of public workers as well as operation mechanisms of agencies and organizations.

The scheme will be carried out from June this year until December 2020.-VNA
