Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese government wants domestic and foreign investors to invest in airport infrastructure in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue told corporate executives of Zurich Airport during a reception in Hanoi on October 25.
Hue said the Vietnamese aviation sector has grown significantly over the past years and been placed among the world’s top five markets in terms of airline passenger volume from 2015-2035, just behind China, India and Indonesia.
Apart from Dong Nai-based Long Thanh airport, Hue also introduced Van Don, Chu Lai and Lao Cai airport projects to Zurich Airport to consider cooperation possibility.
The host also agreed with the group’s proposal on building infrastructure services and facilities around airports in Vietnam.
Chief Financial Officer of Zurich Airport Lukas Brosi said the visit aims to gain an insight into Vietnam’s airport planning, including Long Thanh airport.
The guests expressed their wish to partner with Vietnam in training, transfer of management technology and airport exploitation.-VNA
