Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has pledged all possible support to Swedish firms to do business in Vietnam, especially in the fields of public transport, clean energy, green technology and environmental protection.
Greeting Swedish State Secretary to Minister for Trade Gunnar Oom in Hanoi on September 18, Deputy PM Hai lauded Sweden’s recent moves to promote bilateral ties, including high-ranking visits and investment encouragement, helping two-way trade to grow by an average 10-20 percent over the past six years.
He suggested that the two countries coordinate to hold activities to mark the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year.
The Swedish guest said he is impressed by Vietnam’s socio-economic development over the past time.
He said when Sweden’s official development assistance programme for Vietnam ends this year, his country will work with Vietnam to seek new models of cooperation to maintain the fine friendship between the two countries.
He also informed his host that many Swedish firms operating in transport, renewable energy and environmentally-friendly technology are interested in the Vietnamese market.-VNA
