Pasaxon, the official mouthpiece of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, summarised the historic milestones in the fight of Indochinese countries against the French in the 1950s, focusing on Vietnam’s successes.
The article wrote that the Vietnamese army and people won successive triumphs on all fronts, from the 1947 Viet Bac campaign to the 1954 Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Meanwhile, the Vientiane May publication hailed the unyielding spirit of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh during the fight.
The Vientiane Times, in a long feature, described the victory as a huge inspiration for colonised countries in their struggle for peace, independence and social progress.
